How long does it take for a design to be completed?
The timescale of a project is generally dictated by the client. If you have a deadline in mind we will endeavour to meet it for you. The most common delay in the creation of a site is waiting for content (text/images) to be sent to us by the client.
If we already have our domain hosting can you do the design?
Yes, you can use any web host you like. Once your website has been completed you will have to provide us with your web hosting ftp login username as password so that we can upload your website for you
How do I buy a domain name and hosting?
We can help you if you're not sure. All you need to do is inform us of the domain name you would like to use and send us a brief idea of your requirements. We will assist you purchase the domain in your name, purchase the right hosting package for your project and then based on your guidance,design an initial web page for you.
What is FTP?
FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a method of transferring files (web pages for example) from your local PC to your web server. There are a variety of free ftp software programs available on the Internet and they enable you to update your website pages at any given time. When a hosting package is purchased 'ftp details', consisting of the host name, User ID and password are sent to us. Upon completion of the website and receipt of payment for any work carried out, we then send these details to the client.
What is a URL?
"Universal Resource Locator". This is the address typed in to view your web page on the Internet. For example, you would type in http://www.makeway.com.au to access our home page.
What is Optimisation?
All web pages should be 'optimised'. This will enable your site to gain a high search engine ranking, it revolves around the meta tags on your web pages, a web page that isn't optimised won't appear in the search engines to any great degree Do we need to meet? We are based in Sydney, Australia and a meeting is no problem eith in person or on phone.. In the majority of cases a meeting isn't necessary and 90% of our sites are generally completed with contact via email and telephone only.
Why can't I find my site in the search engines?
Once your site has been submitted to the top Search Engines they may require several weeks, or even months to actually spider and list your web site in their directory.
